Baby Shower Invitation Poems
Hello, it’s nice to meet you
Well, almost, anyway.
I know you’ve been awaiting my arrival
Which I’ve been told is any day.
I wanted to reach out
On behalf of Dad and Mom
And ask if you will be our guest
And come enjoy the fun.
They’re having a shower
To prepare for my debut
And it just wouldn’t be the same
If it didn't include you.
So, come and enjoy my parents
While you still can,
See, I’m going to keep them super busy
As I’ve been working on a plan.
They won’t be sleeping for quite a while,
Which means they’ll be cranky for the next few years.
Dad is going to lose some hair
And mom will greatly miss her peers.
I’m planning to fill their days with smelly diapers,
Also dirty bottles and tons of poop.
They’ll be distracted, frazzled, dazzled
And feel completely out of the loop.
I’m going to demand that their lives revolve around me
And because I’m so cute and huggable
They’ll give in willingly.
I plan on wrapping them tightly
Around my chubby little fingers.
I’m going to cry very loudly
I may even be a singer.
So come celebrate with my folks
And enjoy the calm before the storm.
Just please don’t tell them of my plans
They’ll find out once I’m born
Everybody loves cuddly babies
They’re soft and chubby and cute
They arrive wrapped in love
Wearing nothing but a birthday suit
But they need lots of stuff
Bottles, diapers, toys and decoration
And most of all, they need people like you
So please join us in celebration
The proud parents to be request your presence
On the date and time described herein
They need your support, love and laughter
As their new journey begins
Their bundle of joy is on its way
And there’s still so much left to do
So please come lend your support
And bring a gift or two!
To raise a child takes a village
And you’re a valued part of ours
We need your love, laughter and wisdom
As we prepare for our superstar
Please join us for games, cake and food
Laugh and drink until you’re hearty
We need your presence and your presents
So, please come and enjoy the party
Any last words of advice
Before our little angel arrives?
Bring it to our shower
And you just may win a prize
While you’re at it we’d like it
If you could pick up some stuff
With such a huge arrival en route
We can never get enough
There’s so much to prepare for
In such little time
You should have warned us 9 months ago
We’d be going out of our minds
Collecting and expecting
Preparing indeed
There’s just oogles and googles of stuff we still need
Things like diapers and wipers
Bottles, blankets and such
Toys and jammies and gadgets so much!
We’ve heard babies are messy
So we need a bathtub or two
And lots of air freshener
For that stinky thing babies do
So if you can make it
We’d love to see you here
To celebrate the bun that’s been baking
For nearly an entire year
We think we’re up for the challenge
But heard we haven’t a clue
Of what’s in store for us
Which is why we need you!
Girls wear pink
And baby boys blue
But both smell the same
After a poo
So we want to get together
Before our joy arrives
For soon we’ll be buried in diapers
And have bags under our eyes
It’s all for a good cause
Or so I’ve been told
By people with gray hairs
Who aren’t even that old
But the shock of new parenting
Makes people extra wise
So join us at our shower
As we prepare for our new lives
Humpty Dumpty and Mickey Mouse
Will soon fill our home
Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too
Come with the baby zone
We’ve rearranged rooms
Bought extra furnishings and stuff
But we’re hosting one last hurrah
In case this isn’t enough
So please join us
At the date and time listed above
Because our shower wouldn’t be complete
Without the people we love
We’ve got more kids than that old lady
Crowded into that shoe
But we’ve still got the hots for each other
So what else could we do?
Yes, another is on the way
I know, you’re shocked and amazed
But you know the drill
We’re having another one of those days
Where you come play games
Eat a little food and such
Bring a few gifts if you’d like
We really don’t even need much
Really, we just want to share our joy and love too
So please say yes that you’ll come
A shower’s not the same without you
We’ve done this before
Though we may be a little rusty
It’s been years since our last one
And our supplies are a little dusty
We need a few things
We’ve even made a list, if it’s not too much
Nothing too outrageous
Just diapers, toys, clothing and such
So won’t you please join us?
Our shower will be a blast
This certainly isn’t our first
And it may not be our last
But one thing’s for sure
And this is honest and true
A party’s not officially a party
Until we invite you
Is it a boy or a girl?
We really have no idea.
But time has flown by
And our big day is almost here
We’re throwing a shower
To make sure we do our best
At including everyone we love in the action
So, won’t you please say yes?
Sugar, spice and all things nice
They say that’s what baby girls are made of
Ours is a dear and she’s not even here
Yet we’re ready to receive her in love
Still, we've heard she’ll be a handful
Who needs lots of stuff
So we’re throwing a shower
And hoping that will be enough
To get her through her first year, maybe two
And we need all of our friends to attend
Especially you
Little boys like toys
And ours will have plenty
But we understand that they break a lot
So you can never have too many
So please come to our shower
You’ll have lots of fun
And bring some stuff the kid will need
Since he’s our firstborn son
