Baby Shower Finger Foods

Chicken skewers Recipes Chicken Skewers and Satay Sauce

Ideal Babyshower Appetizers, Quick and Easy to make.

Ingredients
1/2 Cup Crunchy Peanut Butter.
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk.
1/4 Cup Water.
2 Tablespoons Sweet Chilli Sauce.
2 Teaspoons Curry Powder.
Chicken skewers to serve.

Method
Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and stir until smooth over a low heat and heated through; once done remove from heat and set aside

Arrange cooked chicken skewers on serving platter and place Satay dipping sauce in a small bowl in the center of the chicken skewer arrangement.

Cheesy Bites

Makes about 20-25 Cheesy Bites

Ingredients
4oz chilled butter, chop into cubes
4oz finely chopped Cheshire cheese
Pinch of paprika
4oz plain flour - Sifted
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
Thyme leaves
1 medium egg - beaten
1/2 tbsp sesame seeds

Method
Line a baking sheet with grease proof paper and preheat oven to gas mark 5, 190c.

Place the flour and butter into a food processor and whiz up until the mixture looks like fine breadcrumbs, empty the mixture into a bowl and add mustard, paprika, cheese and thyme.

Once done season and stir in enough of the beaten egg to combine all the ingredients together.

Roll out the mixture onto a floured surface to about 1/4inch thick then cut out round circles with a 1 3/4 inch cutter and place onto baking sheet.

Brush the mixture with beaten egg and scatter with sesame seeds.Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until sables are golden brown.

Deviled Eggs Deviled Eggs

Ingredients
12 Large Eggs.
1/2 Cup Mayonnaise.
1 1/2 Tablespoon Mustard.
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Paprika to Garnish.

Method
Place Eggs in a large saucepan and bring to boil on a medium heat, boil for at least 10 to 15 minutes then place in cold water to cool down.

Once the eggs have cooled, peel and cut then into halves lengthwise, scoop out the yolks and place the yolk into a separate bowl.

Mash the yolks and add mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper, mix until all the ingredients have blended together. Once mixed place the mixture back into the egg whites and garnish with paprika.

Brie, Turkey and Cranberry Crostini

Great Babyshower Appetizers to Impress your guests.

Ingredients

1/2 Rye Sourdough French Stick, thinly sliced into 16 slices.
1/4 Cup Olive Oil.
125g Brie - sliced.
2 Slices Cooked Turkey Fillet - chopped in to 1cm cubes.
3 Spring Onions - Sliced.
1/4 Cup Cranberry Sauce.
Salt and Pepper to taste.

Method
Brush the bread on both sides with olive oil and grill, turning once until golden brown - then set aside.

Top each piece of toast with a slice of brie, chopped turkey and spring onions. To finish off put a dollop of cranberry sauce on each piece of toast and sprinkle with black pepper before serving.

Guacamole Dip

Ingredients
2 ripe avocados
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
Garlic Salt
Juice of 1 lime

Method
Half the avocados and remove stones

Scoop out flesh and place mayonnaise, sour cream, avocado, garlic salt and lime juice into a food processor and mix until smooth and creamy.

Fruit Platter Baby Shower Fruit Platter

Ingredients
1 small melon - quartered, seeded, skinned and sliced
1 pink grapefruit - peeled and segmented
150g red seedless grapes - halved
2 satsuma's - peeled and segmented
200ml tub Fromage Frais
1 table spoon of sugar
Dash of vanilla essence

Method
Arrange the melon slices, grapefruit segments, grapes and satsuma segments on a large fruit platter. Sweeten the fromage frais with the sugar and vanilla essence and serve in a bowl placed in the middle of your fruit arrangement.

Fruit Dip

Ingredients
1 cup sour cream
1 cup whipped cream
1/2 cup real maple syrup

Method
Mix all the ingredients together, place in refrigerator for 4 hours and serve with fruit platter. Really Tasty

Babyshower Appetizers - No Cooking Required

Cheese and Crackers
Prepare your platter with a selection of cheese, onion, cucumber, grapes or whatever takes your fancy, place a couple of dips near by and let your guests help themselves.

Quick and Easy
Lay out some chips and dips around the room; add nuts, pretzel sticks and veggie platters; create little candy bowls and dot about the room letting your baby shower guests help themselves as and when they please.
